Personal Injury & clinical negligence

We are a leading chambers in the field of personal injury (PI), industrial disease and professional & clinical negligence work. We enjoy a strong national reputation, with one of our heads of chambers ranked in The Legal 500.

Our barristers will act for claimants and defendants, and are regularly instructed by solicitors acting for leading insurers and trade unions. We accept work on a CFA, CCFA and block-contract basis, and we also offer a mediation service.

“Park Square Barristers is well known for insurance fraud claims and personal injury matters, particularly industrial disease claims. Andrew Lewis QC has particular experience in catastrophic brain and spinal cord injury cases.” – The Legal 500 (2017)

The team

We have over 60 barristers practising in this area of law, and they are experienced at every level – from small claims to cases involving catastrophic injury and group litigation. Many are members of associations such as AvMA and the Personal Injury Bar Association (PIBA) or Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).

“Park Square Barristers’ counsel are praised for their ‘technical ability, approachability and availability’, which are ‘second to none’. The team acts in a diverse range of matters, including claims arising from employers’ liability, public liability and RTAs. A particular strong suit is insurance fraud defence work, including staged road traffic collisions and phantom occupant cases, for which the set is ‘a first choice’. Recent work for Peter Wilson includes a low-velocity impact case arising from an RTA in which the claimant claimed damages for whiplash but was found to have been fundamentally dishonest in his claim.” – The Legal 500

Personal injury cases

Our barristers have wide-ranging experience in PI cases, including catastrophic personal injuries, road traffic accident cases, employer’s liability, fatal accidents, fraudulent claims, industrial disease work, occupier’s liability, public liability, breaches of human rights and product liability. Several offer a particular speciality in noise-induced hearing loss, vibration white finger (VWF), and asbestos-induced mesothelioma claims. The team also acts for parties in inquests and HSE prosecutions connected to such claims.

“Well known for clinical negligence, personal injury and related fraud cases.” — The Legal 500 (2015)
