Christopher Dunn secures acquittal of a man charged with attempted murder

Christopher Dunn yesterday secured the acquittal of 35 year old Gavin Bennett, who was accused of being one of a team of masked gunmen who carried out a terrifying attempted murder in broad daylight during a car chase along busy Sheffield roads in January of this year. Bennett was facing the alternative charge of wounding with intent, for which an acquittal was also secured. The incident involved the shooting of a passenger in the car being chased by the masked gunmen.

Verdict

The not guilty verdict was reached by the jury within 2 hours, following Christopher Dunn’s submission on the basis that Bennett could not possibly have been at the scene at the time of the shooting.
