David Partington specialises in civil procedure, limitation, low-velocity-impact (LVI) claims and all aspects of the recovery of money, including constructive trust, tracing and restitutionary claims as well as associated forms of relief, including freezing orders.

David Partington handles all aspects of chancery work in relation to real and intellectual property (other than patents).

This includes the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA), boundary disputes, adverse possession and rights of way, mortgages, landlord and tenant (private and commercial, with particular experience in respect of service charges), negligence and nuisance concerning land, commons, succession and contested probate.

He also deals with all aspects of commercial chancery remedies associated with the above, including constructive trusts and fiduciary obligations, directors’ duties, undue influence and equitable fraud.

David regularly conducts litigation for and on behalf of local authorities around their rights and obligations as landowners and public authorities, including in respect of rights of common and the law of town and village greens, in which capacity has appeared as both advocate and as inspector in public inquiries.
