Harry’s practice encompasses a variety of contractual and commercial disputes as well as property disputes.

During his first six Harry drafted pleadings and interim applications in relation to several commercial disputes involving construction and manufacturing. Having previously worked in both sectors Harry is keen to assist clients in these areas. He has also been monitoring developments in the hospitality industry during the current Covid-19 crisis, you can read his article ‘Frustrated Contracts and Wedding Venues’ here.

Prior to commencing pupillage, Harry was a Paralegal in the commercial litigation department at Ramsdens Solicitors. There he gained experience in a wide range of complex commercial litigation cases including; partnership disputes, intellectual property, construction and breach of contract. As a result, Harry has worked throughout the stages of litigation, arbitration, and adjudication, from start until final hearing. In addition to the preparation of pre-action communications,  drafting pleadings, witness statements, and other court documents, including those relating to costs, he has been in several substantial disclosure exercises under the Business and Property Courts. He has also been involved in the preparation for and attendance at mediation.

Harry has been exposed to a number of commercial and chancery matters through his pupil supervisor, Matthew Smith, who heads the Property Team at PSQB.

During his first six months of pupillage Harry observed hearings in the Employment Tribunal. Further to this, Harry assisted in the drafting of Merits Assessments.

Prior to commencing pupillage, Harry was a Paralegal in the commercial litigation department at Ramsdens Solicitors. Harry assisted on various matters involving post-employment restrictive covenants and assisting the employment department in contentious matters including claims of unfair dismissal and discrimination. During his BPTC Harry gained exposure to employment law claims whilst volunteering on the Employment Law Telephone Advice Line.

During the first six months of pupillage, Harry observed many Fast Track and Multi Track trials involving allegations of fundamental dishonesty. This experience has left Harry with a keen understanding of the law surrounding fundamental dishonesty under CPR 44.16 and the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015.

This experience alongside that gained by observing Credit Hire matters on the Small Claims Track means Harry has a well rounded experience of this area and an in-depth understanding of the law.

Harry accepts instructions to appear in the Magistrates’ Court on behalf of the Prosecution and Defence.

Whilst working as a paralegal Harry handled several motoring offence cases which involved exceptional hardship and special reasons arguments. Harry also has a particular interest in cases involving allegations of drink driving, as part of his LLM course he wrote a dissertation on potential areas for reform in the law.
