Lily has a complex caseload that spans offences of violence, drugs, and sexual offences. Lily has a strong defence practice which is rapidly growing. Owing to standout feedback received from those she represents alongside members of the Judiciary; Lily continues to be instructed across the full depth and breadth of criminal proceedings.
Supplementing her busy defence practice Lily regularly Prosecutes. Lily is a highly effective jury advocate who stands out for her meticulous case preparation from the very first hearing. In Court, Lily’s clear approach and case strategy means that she builds a rapport with the Jury. Owing to her strong academic background, Lily’s knowledge of the law is clear, and her confidence shows when making and responding to legal applications.
Within her practice, Lily has harboured experience with vulnerable clients. Lily has a developed an ability to cross-examine vulnerable witnesses sensitively yet successfully in accordance with her lay client’s instructions. Additionally, Lily frequently represents youths as well as those with complex mental health conditions. Lily is well-versed in the procedure governing fitness to plead and is confident representing those with additional needs.
Recent Defence Cases:
R v B: Successfully represented the Defendant at trial where he faced an allegation of historic sexual abuse from the 1990’s. Following a three-day trial involving cross-examination of a vulnerable Complainant, a not guilty verdict was returned by the Jury on each and every count.
R v H: Represented a Defendant charged with a number of fraud offences. Successfully made an application to dismiss which resulted in not guilty verdicts being entered on a thirteen count Indictment.
R v C: Instructed to represent a Defendant facing domestic abuse allegations spanning a seven-year period. After challenging the Complainant’s evidence and cross-examining three Prosecution witnesses the Jury found the Defendant not guilty.
R v K: Successfully represented a youth charged with a joint enterprise robbery and Section 18. The Defendant had no previous convictions and following a trial not guilty verdicts on both Counts were returned.
Recent Prosecution Cases:
R v W: Instructed to Prosecute a 5-day armed robbery trial. After hearing the evidence, the jury returned guilty verdicts across the whole Indictment.
R v K: Appeared on behalf of the Prosecution in a multi-handed drugs case involving expert evidence. After a three-day trial guilty verdicts were returned.
