Patrizia Doherty undertakes defence and prosecution cases in all areas and at all levels of criminal law. She has considerable experience in complex cases and has been successful in cases at the High Court and the Court of Appeal Criminal Division.

She has defended adults and young persons in allegations of drugs, serious violence and sexual offences including historical familial abuse and internet child pornography. She has worked as part of a team in conspiracy cases involving large-scale frauds and has been led by silks in cases of murder and attempted murder.

Patrizia Doherty has considerable experience in complex cases and has been successful at the High Court and the Court of Appeal.

Young and vulnerable persons

Patrizia is experienced in dealing with clients who need careful handling as well as cases of a sensitive nature, such as those involving child or vulnerable witnesses and clients with mental-health issues.


She is particularly familiar with confiscation legislation, appearing either for the prosecution or defence in such cases.


Patrizia is instructed by the CPS, DWP, BIS and HMRC in a variety of cases. She worked for the Crown Prosecution Service for many years, attaining the grade of Senior Crown Prosecutor, in which she advised the police as to charges and dealt with all criminal cases from murders to road traffic offenses.
