I will be delivering a seminar on 6 July looking at the law with respect to how lies should be approached in finding of fact hearings, and considering the recent Court of Appeal authority of Re A, B and C (Children)  EWCA Civ 451.

This week we have been delighted to host an exhibition to commemorate and celebrate the centenary of the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act 1919 which paved the way for women to practice in law for the first time.

In the 2014 case Re R (A Child)  EWCA Civ 1625, the president emphasised that ‘sloppy practice, both by social workers and in the courts in the application of the law, must stop…’ and that there is ‘recurrent inadequacy of the analysis and reasoning put forward in support of the case for adoption’.
