Park Square Barristers – setting the pace at the Leeds Half Marathon

Huw Lippiatt, Kate WilsonSusan Fricker and Andrew Wilson participated in the Jane Tomlinson Leeds Half Marathon on Sunday 10th May 2015 , raising money for Yorkshire Cancer Research.

The gruelling 13.1 mile race was an undulating course around Leeds, with the first half being particularly hilly. The sun was shining as the thousands of participants crossed the start line, although the temperature was perhaps a little too hot at first. As with all of the ‘Run for All’ events set up in memory of Jane Tomlinson, the atmosphere around the city centre was fantastic. The support of the crowds who were handing out jelly babies, oranges and water ensured all of our runners completed the half marathon.

Setting the pace at the front of the race was Huw, who secured a new personal best of 1 hour and 19 minutes, and finished the race in 28th position.  Clearly there was room for improvement on that time, as he cycled home afterwards –  keep an eye out for him on the podium next year! This follows his recent success in the London Marathon, where he achieved the target many runners aspire to of sub-3 hours.
