Abdul Iqbal QC appears before a 5-member Court of Appeal in special terrorism court
Park Square BarristersAbdul Iqbal QC leading Jon Sanders of counsel (instructed by T V Edwards Solicitors, London) has today appeared in the appeal of Abdurraouf Eshati before a specially constituted Court of Appeal (Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, Sir Brian Leveson, Mr Justice Sweeney, Mr Justice Hickinbottom, Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb).
The court has been so constituted to hand down sentencing guidance of general application in terrorism cases.
Eshati ‘s appeal relates to his involvement in a plot to transport $28.5 million of heavy gauge ammunition to Libya to support one faction in the Libyan civil war.
The court has reserved judgment.
