Another successful Hygiene Prosecution for Howard Shaw
Park Square BarristersHoward Shaw has concluded another successful prosecution of a slaughterhouse for hygiene offences. Chesterfield Poultry Limited have been convicted of offences relating to failures in pre-operation cleaning at its slaughterhouse in Doncaster, following a three day trial in Sheffield.
The case involved legal argument on the interpretation of the EU and national Hygiene Regulations and the construction of a Remedial Action Notice. Detailed expert scientific evidence was heard in relation to the risks presented by the cleaning deficiencies.
Howard has a detailed knowledge of the Hygiene Regulations relating to all food businesses. He regularly prosecutes for the Food Standards Agency and prosecutes on behalf of local authorities.
