Ben Thomas secures acquittal in Conspiracy to Commit Fraud trial

Ben Thomas, instructed by Ali and Co Solicitors, successfully represented one of three Defendants who were accused of being a participant in a UK wide conspiracy to fraudulently obtain meat. The conspiracy involved the participants using the names and details of genuine companies to make orders for meat, which were either never paid for or paid for with cheques from closed accounts. As a result of the fraud over £350 000 worth of meat was fraudulently obtained from farmers and suppliers from across the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. Following a two-week trial at Leeds Crown Court, Ben’s client was found Not Guilty by the Jury.
