Convicted murderer jailed for historical child sex abuse – Chris Dunn prosecutes
Park Square BarristersThe defendant, Shahid Walayat, had been jailed for murder in 1993. He was released in 2018 but was arrested when the complainant came forward with details of the historical sex abuse attacks.
The abuse began in 1989 when the complainant was six years old.
Walayat was unanimously found guilty after an 8 day trial at Leeds Crown Court.
Chris Dunn prosecuted the trial.
The defendant was convicted of four counts of indecent assault and one count of indecency with a child.
Walayat was sentence to six years in prison.
