We are Delighted to Announce Three Judicial Appointments to the First-Tier Tribunal

Craig Hassall, Simon Clegg and Kate Bisset have all accepted the Senior President’s offer of appointment to sit (part-time) with immediate effect.

Craig Hassall is the Head of our Regulatory & Public Law team and is an A list member of the specialist regulatory panel.

Craig will continue to practice in Serious and Complex Crime and Regulatory & Public Law, both of which for whom he is ranked as Tier 1 counsel in The Legal 500 (2019). Craig also sits as a Legally Qualified Chair of Police Misconduct Hearings for the Police & Crime Commissioners of the North Eastern Region.

Craig will sit in the Health, Education & Social Care Chamber and is authorised to undertake judicial work involving Mental Health.

Simon Clegg will sit in the Immigration and Asylum Chamber. Simon is a member of the Specialist Regulatory List of Approved counsel and in 2018 was appointed as panel counsel for the Attorney General. Simon is ranked as Tier 1 counsel in the Legal 500 (2019)

Simon will continue to practice in Civil Fraud, Personal Injury, Crime & Regulatory & Public Law.

Kate Bisset will sit in the Health, Education & Social Care Chamber and is authorised to undertake judicial work involving Special Educational Needs and Disability .

Kate will continue her practice in Crime where she has particular experience in serious matters involving vulnerable defendants or witnesses, serious sexual offences and human trafficking. Kate also has a growing interest in coronial law.

We congratulate Craig, Simon & Kate in their appointments which will further strengthen the depth and breadth of experience within chambers.
