Archived

On 18 May PSQB presented a panel discussion via Zoom on remote hearings and the use of telephone and various online platforms to conduct them. The aim was to discuss the reality of how these hearings are conducted, any problems which have arisen and how the future of the family proceedings may be changed due to the current pandemic.

In addition the panel discussed the recent and developing case law on the use of remote hearings as well as the judicial guidance.

The panel comprised of numerous barristers from the PSQB Family Team who have had experience of such hearings and all who connect to the discussion will be welcome to contribute and ask any questions.

The panel also included Richard Wright QC, Head of Chambers and Leader of the North Eastern Circuit, who is at the forefront of efforts with the Ministry of Justice, Legal Aid Agency, Judiciary and HMCTS to adapt to the current pandemic and keep the courts operating.
