Former Hong Kong police officer sentenced to 33 years for a campaign of rape and sexual offences. Soheil Khan and Giles Grant prosecute

The defendant Ken Chik was convicted after a 4 week trial in September 2021 at Hull Crown Court for offences included rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, sexual activity with a child, causing a child to engage in sexual activity and cruelty. In sentencing HHJ Bury described Chik’s offending against the three victims as systematic and characterised by extreme levels of manipulation and humiliation.

Chik’s co-accused, Tracy Choi was also convicted of six offences, including rape and attempted rape having been complicit in and participating with Chik’s domineering sexual abuse. Choi was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment.
