Gill Batts and Catherine Moxon Appointed as Legally Qualified Chair to The Medical Practitioners Tribunal

Chambers are delighted to announce that Gill Batts and Catherine Moxon have both been appointed as Legally Qualified Chairs to the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service.

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) is the statutory committee of the General Medical Council (GMC) responsible for providing medical practitioners tribunal hearings and interim orders tribunal hearings. The MPTS is a statutory committee of the GMC and is accountable to the GMC Council and the UK Parliament. They are independent in their decision making, and operate separately from the investigatory role of the GMC.

Hearings are conducted according to the Medical Act 1983 and The General Medical Council (Fitness to Practise Rules)

These two highly prized appointments are indicative of our growing Healthcare Regulatory Team’s success.

Chambers would like to take this opportunity to offer our congratulations to both Gill and Catherine on this significant achievement.

Should you wish to instruct Gill or Catherine or any member of the Healthcare Regulatory Team or discuss any aspect of their practise please contact their clerks
