High-tech car tracker burglary gang jailed – Ben Thomas prosecutes

The gang from Bradford targeted the owners of Chinese restaurants and takeaways in the West Yorkshire area.

Tracking devices were placed on the vehicles, parked outside the restaurants, and the movements of the vehicles were monitored to work out the owners home address and their regular movements. When the home address was empty the gang would then attend the property and burgle the homes.

On Friday 17th June 2022, the three defendants were jailed at Leeds Crown Court for seven years, six years seven months and four years four months respectively. All three had pleaded guilty, on the day of trial, to conspiracy to commit burglary.

Ben Thomas prosecuted the case.
