Park Square BarristersThe Honourable Mr Justice Cobb has handed down a judgment in Re H (Care and Adoption: Assessment of wider family) [2019] EWFC 10.
This judgment provides a clear and helpful review of the obligations of a Local Authority or Adoption Agency to identify and assess wider family members where a placement order application is being considered.
In addition, it also offers guidance for parents who, despite having put themselves forward as primary carers for the Child, seek discreet and confidential arrangements for the adoption of that Child in the alternative.
