Janine Wolstenholme

Janine Wolstenholme instructed in second of two inquests involving school suicides.

The second of two linked inquests took place at Cockermouth Coroners Court before Assistant Coroner Andrew Tweddle.

The inquests touched the deaths of two pupils who attended an independent school in the Lake District.  Pierre Dacosta Noble and Fionnuala Ryan, both 14, took their own lives only weeks apart.

Suicide clusters and contagion in educational settings were a key aspect of the investigation.  The Court also considered the application of Article 2 ECHR in the context of safeguarding in private establishments.
