Man jailed over Bradford woman’s 1994 murder – Richard Wright QC and Simon Clegg prosecute

A man has been jailed for Life for the brutal murder of a Bradford pensioner over 25 years ago.

Richard Wright QC leading Simon Clegg prosecuted the case.

The defendant, Raymond Kay, had denied murder but was convicted following a two week trial at Bradford Crown Court.

New forensic and DNA testing had led to the arrest of Kay by the West Yorkshire Police “Cold case team” last year.

The Trial Judge, The Honourable Mrs Justice O’Farrell sentenced Raymond  Kay to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 17 years.
