The defendant Jason Wood claimed he found the weapons after he was arrested by the police after a disturbance involving around a group of people in Wakefield.

Allan Armbrister was defence counsel and said in mitigation that Wood was the victim of an assault and ran when police arrived at the scene

Wood admitted being in possession of a bladed article in a public place and possession of an offensive weapon. He was jailed for ten months.
