Mark Aspin and Debbie Pickersgill convicted and sentenced – Julian Jones and Kate Bisset Prosecute
Park Square BarristersJulian Jones, leading Kate Bisset, secured the conviction of Mark Aspin at Grimsby Crown Court on 22 charges including a minimum of 31 instances of rape, after a 3-week trial. Mark Aspin had pleaded guilty to one further charge. He was sentenced to 27 years’ imprisonment. Mark Aspin’s partner Debbie Pickersgill was convicted of a further 3 charges alleging sexual activity with a child. She was sentenced to 3 years’ imprisonment. She was acquitted in relation to a single further charge. Two of the victims were aged 13 when the offending started and a third was as young as 11.
