Mr Khadim Al’Hassan leading for the defence secures another high profile acquittal.

Mr Khadim Al’Hassan leading Mr I Suggett and instructed by senior partner Vince Reveglia of EBR Attridge Solicitors successfully defended Mr Ivan Gallo in relation to a large scale conspiracy into counterfeiting of postage stamps and was found Not Guilty following a Trial which commenced on the 2^nd August 2021 at Woolwich Crown Court. A defendants costs order was also granted for his considerable expenses in attending for his trial from Italy.

The other co-defendants received lengthy prison sentences for their roles.

Between February 2016 and March 2020, five seizures by UKBA and Royal Mail yielded approximately 4.4 million counterfeit stamps with a face value of approximately £3.1 million. These seizures show a line of importation of stamps from China into the UK. This was a long term and significant operation. The prosecution were also able to establish almost £1M of cash going through the accounts of Mr Gallo snr.
