Peter Moulson QC and Howard Shaw secure life sentence against Zbigniew Lasek for wife’s murder in Halifax
Peter Moulson QCPeter Moulson QC and Howard Shaw secured the conviction and life sentence of Zbigniew Lasek for murdering his wife Monika.
Monika Lasek was stabbed to death at their family home in Halifax last November.
Zbiginiew Lasek denied murder was but convicted at Bradford Crown Court following a ten-day trial.
During the trial Mr. Moulson QC told the jury there had been a history of domestic violence but many of the attacks were unreported by Mrs Lasek. The breakdown of the couple’s relationship ultimately led to the attack.
Sentencing the defendant for life with a minimum term of 24 years, HHJ David Hatton QC said,
“This was a particularly brutal attack….You showed her no mercy”
