Prison officer jailed for affair with convicted drugs baron – Mark McKone defends

A prison officer has been jailed for having an affair with a convicted drug dealer at HMP Wakefield.

Millie Kirk had sent over a thousand text messages to John Anslow on an illegal burner phone during their six-month relationship at the maximum security jail.

Anslow was reportedly one of Britain’s most wanted criminals – and is now serving 29 years for drug offences.

Kirk pleaded guilty to misconduct in a public office and was jailed for 8 months at Leeds Crown Court.

Mark McKone was defence counsel.
