The Digital Age: Remote Hearings In Family Proceedings Both Now and in the Future

On 18th May 2020 the Family Team hosted the above extremely well attended event via Zoom.

Over 70 people participated in a group discussion on the use of remote hearings in Family Proceedings.

The event was chaired by Chris Moran and the panel included Charlotte Worsley,

Philippa Hildyard, Sally Devall, James Hargan, Jane Curnin, David Orbaum and Mark Saunders.

The panel discussed their considerable experience of remote hearings including those via telephone and online such as the new Cloud Video Platform, Skype for Business and Zoom. They gave their view on the current emerging case law and how they envisage hearings will be conducted in the future.

In addition to this the event had considerable contribution from all those who attended who asked questions, joined in the discussion and raised topics.

The Family Team would like to thank all those who attended and made the evening such a success.

As a team we are keen to provide similar seminars and discussions on current issues which face everyone working within the Family Courts and welcome any suggestions as to future events.

Those who attended will know that some additional resources were mentioned and linked to the ‘chat’ section of Zoom. Please find those links below:
