PSQB tenancy confirmed for Eleanor Durdy and Leila Taleb

We are delighted to announce that Eleanor Durdy and Leila Taleb have secured tenancy at Park Square Barristers following the completion of their pupillage.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic and lockdown, Eleanor and Leila have impressed everyone at PSQB over the last 12 months.

Eleanor has been under the pupil supervision of Katherine Robinson.

In her first six Eleanor observed several high profile criminal cases including a multi-defendant murder trial at Leeds Crown Court. She also shadowed junior members of PSQB on Magistrates sessions, defence trials in the Magistrates Court and small claims hearings.

In her second six, Eleanor has undertaken significant prosecution and defence work in the Magistrates Court, sentences and appeals in the Crown Court, small claims and has drafted numerous pieces of advice for the police. She has received excellent feedback from the CPS, defence solicitors and Magistrates’ following successful outcomes and applications during Magistrates sessions concerning a variety of cases ranging in complexity and severity.

Leila Taleb has been under the pupil supervision of Soheil Khan.

During her first six, Leila observed cases in crime, family and civil. She had the opportunity to see a variety of criminal work including RASSO cases and a trip to the Court of Appeal.

In family work, Leila shadowed Martin Todd and saw many private and public law hearings, including interim care orders, interim removal hearings and finding of fact hearings.

In her second six, Leila prosecuted sessions regularly in the Magistrates Court, criminal appeals and committals for sentences in the Crown Court and small claim hearings in the civil courts. Leila also wrote a family law article for the PSQB website which received positive feedback from members and clients.

Both Eleanor and Leila will be great additions to chambers, and both will have great careers at the Bar.
