Richard Wright Q.C. appointed as a Queens Counsel to the UK Covid-19 Inquiry

We are delighted to announce that the Chair of the Inquiry, Baroness Heather Hallett has invited Richard Wright Q.C. to join her legal team  to support her with the preparation and delivery of the UK Covid-19 Inquiry’s investigative work.

The Inquiry Chair has appointed an experienced legal team to support her in fulfilling the Inquiry’s Terms of Reference to consider the impact of the pandemic on the UK and to make recommendations to ensure that the UK is better prepared to respond to any future pandemics.

Richard Wright Q.C. is Leader of the North Eastern Circuit, Head of Chambers and is Ranked as Tier 1 in The Legal 500 2022 for Business and Regulatory Crime (including Health & Safety) and Band One silk for Crime in Chambers and Partners 2022.

Richard was recently involved  in the Manchester Arena Inquiry and is currently instructed as leading counsel in respect of an application for Judicial Review challenging the coroner’s decision to leave the conclusion of unlawful killing to the jury.

Richard’s deserved appointment stands as testament to his and chambers reputation as leaders in the field of Inquests and Inquiries work in the North.
