Richard Wright QC leading Craig Hassall opens prosecution case against restaurant owner charged with manslaughter by gross negligence of customer.

Richard Wright QC and Craig Hassall have today opened the case for the prosecution against a restaurant owner who is charged with the manslaughter by gross negligence of a customer. The case concerns food allergies and is thought to be the first prosecution of its type. The defendant also faces charges for numerous food safety offences. The trial at Teesside Crown Court is expected to last two weeks.
