Simon Anderson secures £231,000 out-of-court settlement in stress case

Simon Anderson has secured a £231,000 out-of-court settlement for a schoolteacher who suffered a psychiatric injury while in the employment of East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

He experienced a range of issues at work between 2017 and 2023. These included allegations of bullying and serious flaws in the manner in which the Council handled disciplinary matters in respect of which there was no case to answer. His client experienced a severe mental breakdown and was ultimately forced to retire early from teaching. Unusually, the misconduct of his managers was so egregious, and the effects so serious, that settlement was achieved before proceedings were issued.

Special thanks go to John Morrison of Morrish Solicitors both for his instructions and excellent client skills.
