Timothy Capstick’s Successful Prosecution results in Police Commendation

Park Square Barristers would like to congratulate Timothy Capstick on being presented with a Police Commendation at an awards ceremony held at Leeds University on the 29th November 2016. This came as a result of the successful prosecution by him of four men who were convicted of an armed robbery at Berry’s jewellers in Leeds city centre in which nearly £1 million of watches were stolen.

The robbery took place in March 2016 and involved four Estonian nationals who flew into the UK to carry out the robbery. Timothy advised on the case from an early stage and throughout as it involved the gathering and presenting of evidence from this country and abroad.

The final defendant was convicted, following a second trial in August 2016.  The men received sentences totalling nearly 70 years imprisonment.

Tim Capstick is head of the criminal team at Park Square Barristers. He is a senior and experienced advocate who regularly prosecutes or defends in serious criminal cases.

At the awards ceremony, Timothy was presented with his Certificate by the Assistant Chief Constable who thanked him for his hard work on the case.
