Whitby robbery gang attack – Ben Thomas Secures only Acquittal

2 men have been convicted of a “vicious” robbery in which they smashed a pint glass into the victims face before kicking him to the ground.
A third defendant, a twenty year old woman, with no previous convictions, represented by Ben Thomas, was acquitted of all charges after a 6 day trial at York Crown Court.

The case involved a significant conflict between the three defendants as to who was involved in the offence.

Sentence for the two convicted men has been adjourned to 21 October where the Trial Judge, The Recorder of York HHJ Sean Morris indicated “It’s going to be a sentence of some length for such a vicious attack as this”
