Woman jailed for framing ex-boyfriend as a paedophile – Ben Thomas prosecutes

The defendant Amy Gray was sentenced to 5 years in jail for framing her ex-boyfriend and his new lover as paedophiles.

Gray took over her ex-partners Facebook account to arrange a meeting with a 14-year-old girl – but Gray knew that the girls account was fake and actually belonged to a paedophile vigilante group.

Humberside Police were then informed and the ex-boyfriend and his new partner were taken into custody.

It was only when Police traced the source of the Facebook messages to Gray’s IP address that the deception was uncovered.

Ben Thomas prosecuting told the Court Gray “wanted revenge….she wanted him in prison so he and his new partner couldn’t be together.”

Gray pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice in June and was sentenced yesterday at Hull Crown Court.
