  1. Sovereign Chambers’ energetic weekend!

Comments Off on Sovereign Chambers’ energetic weekend!

This weekend saw Sovereign Chambers tackle a cycle race and the Leeds half-marathon (bringing the amount we’ve raised for cancer research to £6,500).

The weekend kicked off with Andrew Lewis QC completing the 100km Acorn Sportif cycle race as a prelude to his June challenge of completing the first (Yorkshire) stage of the Tour de France (125 miles in somewhat “hilly” terrain).

Inspired by his example, David Orbaum, Huw Lippiatt, Susan Fricker, Andrew Wilson, Andrea Parnham and Zoe Malir all completed the Leeds half-marathon – not only in fine style but with the entire team finishing it in under 2 hours 30 minutes – a remarkable achievement. Huw as usual led them in at 1 hour 22 minutes, with Andrea not far behind in 1 hour 45 minutes.

Their fundraising also added another £1,000 to Sovereign Chambers’ fundraising for Yorkshire Cancer Research, bringing the total to beyond the £6,500 mark.
