Two men charged with felling the famous Sycamore Gap tree on Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland in September 2023 have gone on trial at Newcastle Crown Court.
Daniel Graham and Adam Carruthers face two counts of criminal damage.
Head of Chambers, Richard Wright KC, prosecutes the case.
The trial is listed for 10 days.
Today Mr Wright KC opened the prosecution case.
The case is attracting national and international media attention.
