The defendant, Mohammed Mahfuz Ahmed, was convicted following a trial at Sheffield Crown Court.

Ahmed had been charged with disseminating terrorist publications and encouraging terrorism.

He was found in possession of magazines and propaganda which promoted jihad.

Ahmed also made posts on social media that encouraged murder and acts of violence against specific targets.

His arrest followed an intelligence-led operation by Counter Terrorism police in April 2024.

Ahmed will be sentenced next month.
