Abdul Iqbal QC secures not guilty verdicts in gun violence trial

Abdul Iqbal QC has secured not guilty verdicts for Said Djama after a 3 week trial before the Recorder of Bradford.

Djama was alleged to have travelled from Sheffield to Newcastle and been involved in the multiple discharge of a firearm through the letterbox of a house and then in the street in order to intimidate locals.

The trial involved detailed assessment of the movements of Djama and his two co-acccused (Jamal Barrat and Mohammed Nassir), assessment of wide-ranging scientific evidence, extensive legal argument, and presentation of cut-throat defences.

The jury acquitted Djama on all counts and convicted the co-accused on all counts.

Abdul Iqbal QC led Mr Fuad Arshad instructed by Riaz Solicitors of Bradford.

Abdul Iqbal QC specialises in cases of homicide, terrorism, serious and complex fraud, and serious crime.
