David Boyd guilty of murdering 7 year old Nikki Allan – Richard Wright KC and Gill Batts prosecute

A man has been convicted of murdering a seven-year-old girl more than 30 years ago.

David Boyd was found guilty at Newcastle Crown Court following a 3 week trial – he will be sentenced on 23 May.

Richard Wright KC led Gill Batts for the prosecution.

 

Another man was initially charged with Nikki’s murder but was found not guilty at a trial in 1993.

 

The case against Boyd was described by Northumbria Police as one of the most complex and comprehensive ever conducted.
