Glenn Parsons secures acquittal of teacher accused of downloading indecent material.

The defendant faced counts of making indecent images of Cat A and B and downloading extreme pornography.

The defendant lived in shared accommodation and the defence were able to demonstrate that unbeknownst him, to at least one of the other occupants, who had access to the defendant’s computer, had previously been convicted of child sex offences. The prosecution stated that his presence at house did not accord with the ‘creation dates’ for the downloads for the illegal material and also, that the Extreme Pornography counts carried a reverse burden, requiring the defendant to disprove the allegations. However, the defendant was found not guilty of all counts following a 3  day trial.
