Park Square BarristersCharlotte Worsley KC represented the father and Will Tyler KC represented Q in public law proceedings subject to the Transparency Reporting Pilot where the father had murdered the mother. An application was made by the Local Authority for a reporting restrictions order.
Mr Justice Poole set out guidance on the scope of reporting restrictions orders and transparency orders. Considering the principle of open justice and the Article 8 and 10 rights involved in this case Poole J refused the Local Authority’s application to extend the reporting restrictions to the criminal proceedings under the court’s inherent jurisdiction but made a limited reporting restriction order.
