“Mutilation” murder conviction – Richard Wright QC and Kate Batty prosecute.

A man has been convicted of the “horrific and violent” murder of a 54 year old grandfather.

It took the jury 30 minutes to convict Christopher Graham for the murder of Simon Bowman following a 2 week trial at Newcastle Crown Court.

Mr Bowman had been stabbed repeatedly and had lost fingers and toes.

Sentencing will take place on 31 January.
