Peter Moulson QC prosecutes prisoner who murdered child killer

Peter Moulson QC appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service today in the murder sentence of John Westland.

The case involved the murder of Liam Deane.

Deane was serving a life sentence for the murder of his 2 day old daughter.

Deane was found dead in his cell last November which led to the arrest of Westland.

Westland was convicted of murder on Tuesday following a 7 day trial at Leeds Crown Court.

During the trial Mr Moulson QC presented the prosecution case with the evidence that Westland murdered Deane with a broken bottle of aftershave.

Today the Trial Judge, HHJ Jameson QC jailed Westland for life and will serve a minimum of 19 years.
