School teachers acquitted of child sex offence charges – Kitty Colley defends

Kitty Colley has successfully defended two school teachers against serious sex offence charges.

David Thomas (MBE) , a retired teacher who spent 4 decades working at Horncastle primary school, was found not guilty on  of the 5 serious charges he faced. The jury took only an hour to reach their verdicts at Lincoln Crown Court on Monday 17th January.

Thomas retired after 41 years of service in teaching. He also helped set up both football and netball clubs, school plays and the school library. He was awarded an MBE in 2003 for services to sports education in the community.

Adam Binns, a PE teacher at Bourne Grammar School was acquitted of sexual assault against two 6th form students, during after a trial at Lincoln Crown Court back in September 2021.
