Abdul Iqbal QC defends in Operation Casebox, terrorism case at the Old Bailey

Abdul Iqbal QC of Park Square Barristers, leading Sanjeev Sharma recently represented Syed Choudhury who faced terrorism charges at the Central Criminal Court. The defendant was actively engaged in seeking to travel to Syria to wage warfare with the proscribed group “ISIS”.

The defence successfully argued that the defendant should not receive an indeterminate sentence. The case received widespread national press coverage including the BBC and the Guardian.

Abdul Iqbal QC is a favoured choice of counsel among both solicitors and lay clients. He is widely recognised for his skilful, tactical and robust advocacy in the most complex cases. He took Silk in 2014 after years of being instructed as leading counsel in high-profile cases where Queen’s Counsel had been instructed by other parties in the case.
