Two women convicted of vicious assault on a woman with a brain tumour – Ellie Mitten prosecutes

In June 2021, two females (mother and daughter) violently attacked the Complainant at her home in Hull following an argument between their primary school children. Upon the Defendants’ attendance at her property, the Complainant immediately disclosed to them that she had a brain tumour. The Defendants proceeded to deliver numerous blows to the right-hand side of her head, where they knew the brain tumour to be, whilst threatening to give her further brain damage.

The Defendants both worked in healthcare prior to the incident – the mother as a healthcare professional and the daughter as a trainee nurse.

Ellie prosecuted the 3-day trial at Hull Crown Court. At the conclusion of the trial, both Defendants were unanimously convicted.
