Suspended Sentence for Holidaymaker Returning to East Midlands Airport Arrested in Possession of Stun Guns – Ben Thomas defends

A holidaymaker returning to East Midlands Airport who was arrested by Border Control Officers for possessing two illegal stun guns and a flick knife in his luggage has been sentenced at Leicester Crown Court.

The defendant represented, by Ben Thomas, was initially charged with having a disguised firearm which would have resulted in a mandatory minimum custodial sentence of five years.

Following advice from Ben Thomas and negotiations at Court, the prosecution accepted a plea to possession of a prohibited weapon. The defendant was sentenced to 16 months suspended for two years.
